The start to summer took place this year during Easter in Barcelona,14-18 April. The weather was super nice, we got to enjoy the sunshine and temperatures of almost +25ºC every day. I planned this Easter trip with my sister, my sister's boyfriend and my brother. It is nice that I got travel company from my siblings and we manage to avoid the worst fights. In mid-January, we booked the flights and accommodation for about 400 euros per person. The hotel we stayed at was called Sunotel Junior. The hotel was quite pricey, but the location was really good. You could almost walk everywhere. At least the famous La Rambla street was easy to navigate from the hotel and the length of the trip was not dizzying.

In Barcelona, the "must" thing to do/see was, of course, to experience the atmosphere of La Rambla street. We also took a spin in the local market hall where we could see vendors selling e.g., fresh meat, vegetables, fruits, and other delicacies. We also went to check the Güell Park, designed by Antoni Gaudí. Of course, it was also great to see the world-famous La Sagrada Família church at close range. The fineness was slightly overshadowed by the construction things, fences, etc. in front. Because it seems that the restoration of the church is an eternity project. Montjuïc hill, with nice views of the city centre. There was also a beautiful fountain at the top and a small kiosk where you could buy something to eat, drink, souvenirs etc.

It was also lovely to spend time in La Barceloneta area, where the coastline is lined by numerous beach bars and restaurants. It was charming to walk on the warm sand, listen to the sea, enjoy cold refreshments, and just relax, no worries. We really got into a real vacation atmosphere. All in all, a little spurt to the sun was the best decision. At least the almost two-litre sangrias made us laugh (and even more after the pins were empty), local street artists were funny and hectic life of the city was amazing to feel.

I can warmly to visit in Barcelona. The best time to travel is between April-September. I was also happy by the fact that I budgeted almost 1000 euros for the trip to be used for food, drink, shopping and sightseeing, among other things. I don't know what a crazy idea it was, but overall, it took me (if I don't include flights and hotel), about 300 euros. This was a pleasant surprise, of course, the rest of the money will be transferred to the travel savings account to wait for the next adventure 😊
