Four hours in Milano
When I left back to Finland from Peru on 12 March, I remembered that I had a long stopover in Milan on Sunday 13 March. Before that, I also stopped in Madrid, but the stop was only a few hours long. In Milan, however, I was left with almost eight hours before the flight to Helsinki. I decided to take advantage of this time and explore the center of Milan for about four hours. I did not have to go around alone; I got a local guide to my trip. Thank you for the Couchsurfing community! Among other things, I saw Milan Cathedral, the Duomo, one of the city's most famous attractions. Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II was also fantastic to see, it is an amazing shopping center structure that is architecturally stunning and hides luxury shops inside.
In the center I saw all kinds of interesting things like historical buildings, stylish people (haha), lovely little cafés, restaurants here and there. Most stereotypically, my Italian experience was crowned by the fact that a brand-new Ferrari rolled around the corner. I knew I had come to Milan. It was lovely to tour the city, photograph everything interesting, eat real gelato and have a nice dinner (pasta and wine of course). Stopping in Milan was a wonderful experience for me. It was easy to take the train back to the airport (one direction airport-Milan Centrale costs about 13 euros, the option is also to buy a day pass. Of course, it becomes more affordable if you spend more days in the city).
I recommend to experience Milan and of course, the whole Italy! :)
